Oh, boy!

In a word: Blessed

The Experience: These guys are family too!!! I have the best, supportive family by far and I'm so glad to be able to do this. Sarah is my cousin and we don't see or talk as much as I'd like for us to, but whenever we talk there is a unique connection that only can be felt through blood ties. These are the smallest members of Sarah's five boy clan. (She should start a boy band someday) Eventually, we hope to get the whole crew together but for this session we did the little guys. These boys are so sweet, and such precious kids and so is their momma. I've never been around her when she hasn't said how "blessed" she is. It's easy to see why she feels that way, these boys are incredibly wonderful!

Favorites from the session:

Josh and Maddie

In one word: Family

The Experience: These two are my cousins, and they always prove to be fun. Josh is a talker, imaginative, lively, creative. He's mind is always in overdrive, and constantly coming up with new ideas. Maddie is more reserved and quiet. She's the observant type, a little slow to warm up to you, but once you've earned her trust she's nothing but a pure sweetheart. I always enjoy family, and especially seeing these two.

Taryn

In one word: Playful

The Experience: Taryn is a familiar face around here. She was one of my very first. She's always fun. I never look at these sessions as work. It's more like a socially acceptable play date between a kid and a really goofy adult. Haha!!! Taryn is a ball of energy, and she's precious. I love her family too.

Taryn's a familiar

TC

In one word. Three-year-old-boy. (Technically that is more than one word, but using the hyphen makes it eligible.)
The Experience. I got my exercise with this one. Where do little boys get their energy from? He wasn’t a fan of having his picture made, but when I could get him still for a second he was a pro. Confession time, I did use auto focus during parts of his session. My eyes and hands just do not work at the same speed as little boys. Ha!!! I had a lot of fun with him, and at the end of the day I think I made a great friend. I always love meeting new kids and seeing them warm up to me. This little guy is such a sweetheart, and I hope to see him again.

Jacob and Josie

In one word. Joy.
The Experience. I have to say that these are two of the sweetest, well mannered kids I know. Jacob was such a gentleman and so helpful with his little sister. He was so good, in fact, I may borrow him for some upcoming sessions. Josie was just a little ball of sass and I loved it. Both of these kids were such a joy to work with and so willing to do what I asked them to. Considering there was a wonderful playground just a few yards away, I was very amazed by their level of understanding and patience. I have to add that Davi and Darek should be very proud of these two.

A couple of weeks ago I started another blog somewhere else just to focus on photography and link it up to my website. That idea, although well intended, never really took flight. So I’m back here….again. Familiarity is sustaining, so I’ll stick to what I know.

Here are some faces from my recent sessions. Most of these images were edited in Photoshop Elements with the Wonderland action set from Paint the Moon.

Keisha.

In one word. Beautiful.

The Experience. Keisha is thirteen years old, and all I can say is that I wish that I had been this beautiful at thirteen. I didn’t really blossom until later, much later. Truth be told I’m still waiting for that shining moment. Pretty sure as the thirties rage on, it may never come. Oh, I’m supposed to be talking about Keisha, not about myself. She’s an absolute stunner, and her daddy better be ready when she turns 16. She was a natural in front of the camera too. I love when they make it easy for me. This age is so great to photograph because during these sessions I find, (especially with girls) they have a new sense of confidence in themselves.

::Begin guilt induced marketing ploy:: Parents don’t you want to capture your child as they bloom? Give them a new found sense of confidence? A lifestyle portrait session is a perfect opportunity to do this.
